Pavel Lakhtunov was born 1949.
He was Soviet and now days he is Russian artist.

1966 – 1972 – He finished Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Now it is Moscow State University of Printing Arts.
1968 – 1971 – works on the problem of mathematical model of colour.
1972 – 1976 – instructor at the Centre for scientific of labor organisation and production management of printing of Goskomizdat USSR.
1976 – 1978 – senior art editor of the publishing house APN (Agency of Printing «News»).
1980 – the artist in the magazine «The Knowledge is Power».
1986 – 1987 – experimental painting class at the physics-mathematical school in MEPhI (Moscow engineering physics Institute) 1987 – taught a course on applied graphic easel in the Moscow art-industrial university named after G.Stroganov.
1988 – 1991 – the chief artist of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Since 1986 – Chairman of the section of easel graphics at the Malaya Gruzinskaya, 28.
2002 – winner of 2002 of the magazine “Knowledge Is Power” for organising a workshop that gathers philosophers, mathematicians, painters, physicists, to connect science with art; for the article “to See the new reality?” From 2003 – Member of the Creative Union of Artists and Art “Academy of Abstract art”.

He made a lot of books and schoolbooks. Some books get international awards and prizes.
His works are in collections of:
Pushkin Museum, Moscow (Talochkin collection); Museum of the international Union for the study of symmetry, Budapest; The Sevastopol art Museum; Simferopol art Museum; and in a private collections.
